MeetĀ Our Founder
Kari Morfeld, Ph.D.
Hello & Nice to Meet You!
I’m a wildlife endocrinologist and reproductive physiologist specializing in elephants and giraffes. I earned my Ph.D. from George Mason University in collaboration with the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute. Originally from Nebraska, I still proudly call it home—proof that small-town girls can dream big!
I am the Founder and CEO of Morfeld Research & Conservation, LLC, and the Founder and President of the nonprofit For Elephants, Inc. I’m also a proud solo parent to two young, animal-loving girls, Scarlett and Gianna, and one beloved fur companion, Prince Naveen.
For more than 22 years (yes—since I was 20!), I’ve conducted elephant and wildlife research in zoos and across Africa. I’m passionate about science, animals, faith, nature, and helping others find clarity and purpose in a noisy world. My mission is simple: to serve animals by serving people.
Thank you for stopping by! I’d love to connect. Feel free to send me a message and introduce yourself!
